Coimbatore: The Mettupalayam subdivision has been adjudged as the best police subdivision by the district police for its best performance in handling cases. On March 17, district superintendent of police S Selvanagarathinam held a review meeting to scrutinise the performance of police subdivisions in crime preventions, investigations, execution of court warrants, arrest of history-sheeters and maintenance of law and order.
Based on it, the Mettupalayam subdivision was adjudged as the best police division. Selvanagarathinam presented the trophy to Mettupalayam deputy superintendent of police Balamurugan. West zone IG R Sudhakar presented a certificate to Balamurugan. By selecting Mettupalayam police station as the best in Coimbatore district, Selvanagarathinam presented a trophy to Mettupalayam police inspector Shanmugam.
He also presented a trophy and cash prize of ₹20,000 to constable Dhamodharan for completing court-related duties, and distributed certificates to special sub-inspector Ganesan, head constables Sundararajan, Suresh, and Venugopal. tnn…
