Coimbatore, Aug 7, 2010 : The National Highways Authority of India has made an announcement to commence the NH 67 Ext project that has been on the planning table for sometime now. The Authorities have published a list of Survey numbers and the area that will be acquired for this project as per the list below that is shown by area. The office has also called for any objection or comment from the public or affected parties to present their case before the office within 21 days of the date of Advertisement (7th Aug 2010) which means the objections, comments will have to be given in by the end of this month (approx 28th Aug 2010). The details are given as per the government procedures and prevailing acts of 1956 and the recent order of the supreme court in 2006 where any activity taken in the interest of the public. The above action has been commenced under the Highways Act of 1956, as per Sec3A(1) the Central Government has been given the Authority and order issued on 25.05.2010, and Special order #1011 S.O.#1221(E), Part 2, Division 3, Subdivision (ii), page 1- 24. The area coverage is from Kangeyampalayam (KM 323/850) to Mettupalayam (KM 383/200).
The project is expected to be completed in 30 months time as per the tender document and the cost is estimated to be around Rs.640 crores. The distance to be laid is around 54 kms. The road is from Coimbatore to Mettupalayam that is an extension from Kangeyampalayam.
